Private Lesson Information

PRIVATE LESSONS ARE  STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!
An essential part of any successful band program is a strong private lesson program.  Private lessons will be offered in person at McKamy   Unlike tutoring, private lessons are not needed just for those students that may be struggling.  Private lessons are for every student.  In class, we are not able to give your student individualized attention as much as we would like.  Private lessons are a chance for your child to have lessons with a specialist on their instrument and have instruction that is geared specifically for each student.  Students that may be struggling can get the extra help to improve, but the average to advanced players can get instruction to advance further and keep them challenged outside of class.

Our private lesson staff has been hired by the McKamy band  staff and has completed the LISD background checks.  These teachers are highly qualified professionals that will work closely
with the band directors to help each student progress.  The LISD has implemented a pay scale for all people who teach private lessons on an LISD campus.  The length of lesson will be
determined by the lesson teacher’s schedule and the class period.

Degreed Teacher: 30 minute lesson - $24.00
22 minute lesson  - $20.00

Students that are interested in private lessons may click the teacher's name and email them.  Please contact a band director if you have any questions.

Time Requests:  The private lesson staff will do their best to honor your time request based on the time they receive your email.

We look forward to having our students involved in the private lesson program!
