Honor Winds Honor Winds is an advanced band and considered the first performing ensemble. Students perform at concerts and contests throughout the school year and participate in the All-District & All-Region audition processes. Students will also perform a solo and ensemble in the Spring semester. Instrumentation is limited to students who show advanced performance abilities and superior attitudes. This group consistently earns Superior Ratings at UIL and other Festivals. Honor Winds has earned Best in Class and Overall MS Band of the Day at Director's Choice and Peak Festivals. They are also a nationally recognized ensemble as a 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019 Commended Winner and a National Winner in 2022 in the National Wind Band Mark of Excellence Honors Project. In 2013 Honor Winds earned 10th place in the state for CCC middle school bands in the TMEA Honor Band process.
Symphonic Band Symphonic Band is an advanced band and considered the second performing ensemble. Students perform at concerts and contests throughout the school year and participate in the All-District & All-Region audition processes. Students will also perform a solo and ensemble in the Spring semester. Instrumentation is limited to students who show advanced performance abilities and superior attitudes.
Beginner Band Beginner Band is divided into specialized classes for the purpose of teaching the basic fundamentals of playing an instrument. Classes include: Flute, Oboe/Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium/Tuba, and Percussion. Students will complete musical and rehearsal objectives in preparation for Symphonic Band and Honor Winds.
